- Paul Chapelle -

Paul Chapelle was born to Dutch artist Isobel Vallent and American journalist Raylan Chapelle in Kabul in 1969. Raylan dies whilst on duty as a war correspondent in Cambodia 10 years later.

Paul decides to become a journalist. Driven by the fear to always live in his father’s shadow, his ventures as a reporter lead him from Paris, Athens and Istanbul to Johannesburg. When Edward Vallent, his superior at Algemeen Nederlands Dagblad, convinces Paul to help Farah in her investigation, he discovers that the tie that links the two journalists is much stronger than initially thought.
